How to Put on a Condom (Without Impregnating Anyone or Making an Ass Out of Yourself)

Putting on a condom can be a daunting task to the newbie. Think about it – if you do not know how to do it correctly you risk getting someone pregnant by accident. You could also risk looking like a total amateur at that crucial moment. And who wants either of those to happen? Well, worry not! Here are some step by step directions to have you putting on condoms like a pro in no time.

Step 1 –

Check the expiration date. Condoms have a long shelf life, but you don’t want to use one that’s too old. If you are going to make the effort to protect yourself and your partner, make sure it takes.

Step 2 -

Take the condom wrapper. It helps to do this after it’s unattached from the row of condoms it comes connected to in the box. There will be a small slit in a corner of the package. Tear from this notch and rip off the entire side of the wrapper. Don’t use your teeth unless you want to bite through your condom, in which case you will have to start all over. With enough false starts, you’ll spoil the mood and all of this condom business will be pointless. Once you have removed one side of the wrapper, remove the condom carefully.

Step 3 –

Orient the condom correctly. Don’t look away and pray for the best. Pay attention to what you are doing. The rolls should be on the outside of the condom, like a toboggan with the brim turned up. If you start to put the condom on inside out, it is now officially trash. Do NOT just turn the condom around and put it on the right away. You may have gotten semen on it. That’s how the kind of accidents where you stay up all night rocking a baby instead of rocking out and working at a factory instead of chasing your dreams happen.

Step 4 –

Roll the condom on. Now that you have it situated correctly, hold the condom by the tip to squeeze out any air. Leaving some space at the tip, roll the condom down the shaft of the penis. Unroll the condom as far as possible. The condom may or may not unroll completely before reaching the base of the penis.

The condom should fit securely, without being loose or tight. If the condom is secure and comfortable, you are not ready to commence any variation of sex that strikes your fancy.

It is a good idea to practice a few times on your own before the “big day.” That way when it comes time to put it on, you won’t have to get nervous about getting it on properly the first time around.

Remember -

Putting the condom on correctly doesn’t, by itself, guarantee a successful venture. Follow these condom tips and tricks to have a safe and happy love-wrastlin’ experience.
